Tutt Street Optometry Clinic originated
in 1987 with Dr. John Kemp and Dr. Grant Goods. Along with
Ophthalmologist Dr. Frank DeFreitas, they built the building
which is known as Kelowna Eye Care Centre. Their dream was
to be able to provide a wide range of eye care services under
one roof.
The clinic grew gradually and Dr. Louise
Myshak joined the practice in 1988. Dr. Greg Wallace joined the
practice in 1991, with Dr. Good leaving to devote his full attention
to his practice in Summerland. Drs. Stacey and David Grimes joined
the practice in 1993 and 1995 respectively.
The practice continues to grow, and in
August, 2008, Dr. Kimberly Bernot (formerly Smith) and Dr. Patricia Rychjohn joined
the practice.
The building provides comprehensive eye
care, with Tutt Street Optometry providing a full range of optometric
services including eye examinations and contact lens services.
Okanagan Optical Company (Opticians) provides eye glass
dispensing (including an on-premises edging lab). Dr. Jeff Chambers
(Ophthalmologist) provides ophthalmic services, and Kelowna Laser
Vision Clinic performs refractive surgery (PRK and Lasik).
Each of the entities in the building complement
each other in order to provide complete eye care under one roof.
