On March 18, 2020, Tutt Street Optometry and Okanagan Optical closed our physical doors to do our part to help flatten the curve of the spread of COVID-19. We are happy to announce, under the guidance of the Provincial Health Office of British Columbia and the College of Optometrists of British Columbia, we will be re-opening our doors on May 19.
Keeping our staff and patients healthy is of utmost importance to us and we feel that the physical layout of our clinic, with seven private exam rooms and a completely separate Optical sets us up well for optimal physical distancing. We have adapted our normal way of doing things. Here are the steps we are taking to ensure we can get back to helping people while maintaining health and safety for us all:
We are so excited to get back to doing what we love to do - helping you. Please call or email the clinic with your booking requirements and requests.
We thank you in advance for your patience as we work to safely get back to providing you with the best possible care.
See you soon!
Since opening in 1987, Tutt Street Optometry has been Kelowna’s destination for reliable, professional eye care. Whether you’ve been with us since day one, or it’s your first visit, you can expect the same warm welcome and friendly service.
Eye care shouldn’t be a stressful experience. We want your visit with us to be comfortable, informative and helpful. Visit our newly renovated modern space, enjoy the natural light from our skylight, and let us care for you. We also offer complimentary wi-fi!
We’re proud to serve patients of any background, need, or ability. Our office is wheelchair accessible, and equipped to care for anyone from children to seniors, and everyone in between. We allow time for emergency appointments, so we’re always prepared to help out.
Life can get a little complicated. Luckily, our location makes eye care exceptionally easy. We share our building with an Ophthalmologist and laser centre; so your treatment options are only a few steps away.
There are new advances in medical science every day, and we want to make sure we’re following the most up to date testing procedures, offering the most effective treatments, and using the most cutting edge equipment. That’s why we invest in advanced and innovative technology to give you the best possible service.
Your glasses are an extension of your personality. You want frames that tell the world exactly what kind of person you are, and we understand that. That’s why we have over 700 spectacle frames for you to browse through, try on, and fall in love with.
And with 250 pairs of sunglasses, you’ll never need to shop for glasses anywhere else. We even have our own in house edging lab, meaning everything you need is right here at Tutt Street Optometry.
This awesome compact machine lets us look at your entire retina. With it, we can do a thorough search for the early signs of disease, or monitor the progression of diseases we’ve already diagnosed.
Using various frequencies, we’ll show you two quickly alternating bars on a screen. If the bars disappear at certain frequencies, it could indicate problems with your eyes. We use this special kind of visual field testing to screen for Glaucoma and other issues.
A specialized low power microscope with a camera attached takes pictures of the inside surface of your eye. This amazing tool helps us take a closer look at your retina and surrounding blood vessels, optic disk, macula, and posterior pole.
